4D geometry revisited..

its been such a long time since i gave the topic any thought at all. graduation, woman, work etc etc.
anyway i wanted to point out some flaws in my reasonings. dont mind the grammar or the punctuations.

taking the model of the 4D.... cubes inside cubes inside cubes. for that model to be correct, one cube will have to be smaller than the next one n so on. that will render the system we r considering as infinite in mass. it is just expanding with time, one slice at a time...

if we take universe as a system, then according to thermodynamics, any system, without external influence always contains the same amount of matter and energy. then if universe,i.e., our system IS expanding then the matter and energy contained is progressively getting less dense with time. what, then, fills the rest of the space ? we call it dark matter ? ether ? what is it ?

now scientists have said the universe is expanding at the speed of light ( that is a fact ). that means, the speed at which time travels is equal to the speed of light ?
let us take an example. sunrays take 8 minutes to reach earth. therefore, the first person who sees the first light of the sun on earth says " its sunrise"... but it is actually 8 minutes in the PAST that he is watching. what does it mean ?
i gather it would mean that our sense time IS, in fact, relative as Einstein theorized in general relativity. there are no absolutes.
the flaw lies here in the fact that, were there no observers, this relativity of time will have no purpose. but nature always has a purpose. there is nothing around us, which is not needed. then why does this time lag exists ? what is the purpose of time ?

whenever i look up at the stars, i marvel at the stories they can tell us :)

Make for yourself a definition or description of the thing which is presented to you, so as to see distinctly what kind of a thing it is in its substance, in its nudity, in its complete entirety, and tell yourself its proper name, and the names of the things of which it has been compounded, and into which it will be resolved. For nothing is so productive of elevation of mind as to be able to examine methodically and truly every object which is presented to you in life, and always to look at things so as to see at the same time what kind of universe this is, and what kind of use everything performs in it, and what value everything has with reference to the whole.

The universe itself is god and the universal outpouring of its soul; it is this same world's guiding principle, operating in mind and reason, together with the common nature of things and the totality which embraces all existence in which everything is contained.

Constantly regard the universe as one living being, having one substance and one soul; and observe how all things have reference to one perception, the perception of this one living being; and how all things act with one movement; and how all things are the cooperating causes of all things which exist; observe too the continuous spinning of the thread and the structure of the web.

Reason means not only using logic, but also understanding the processes of nature — the logos , or universal reason, inherent in all things. Living according to reason and virtue, is to live in harmony with the divine order of the universe, in recognition of the common reason and essential value of all people. The four cardinal virtues of this philosophy are Wisdom, Courage, Justice and Temperance. If someone is unkind, it is because they are unaware of their own universal reason. Likewise, if they are unhappy, it is because they have forgotten how nature actually functions.

The Speed of Light

Many years ago, Einstein theorized the interdependence of matter and energy in the famous equation :

E = mc^2

where,

E = Energy dissipated by body of given mass
m= Mass of the body
c=Speed of light (2.8e8 m/s approximately)

This equation is considered the most basic pillar of quantum physics, a subject on which i have negligible knowledge. quantum physics/mechanics is supposedly different from natural physics because the quantities involved are either too huge or too small, to such an extent at which normal physical laws break down and situations are more often than not, termed anomalies.

what is an anomaly ? an electron was considered the basic unit of matter a couple of decades ago. its splitting was termed an anomaly at first. " what the hell !" :P

anyway... what i wanted to talk about in this post was.... what exactly does E=mc^2 means ?

for years this equation has remained an enigma of sorts..
how to change mass into energy ? what will be the outcome if we do manage to accomplish it ? Nuclear fission caused Hiroshima and Nagasaki. E=mc^2 might as well cause Solar System. and rest assured this is not an exaggeration.

According to Einstein, the only way to change matter into energy is to accelerate it to the speed of light. at that point it is said that the complete mass will turn into pure energy. this, however, has never been achieved. any body, however small, cannot even approach the speed of light. why ? because, the force needed to accerlate body is directly proportional to the present speed of the body. in other words, the faster the body is going, more force is required to accelerate it. in fact, the faster the body goes, the more weight(resistance) it offers to the force being applied upon it.

technically speaking, no body which has a mass can even get NEAR the speed of light which is regarded as the infinite speed ( nothing as yet can move faster than light). just before the speed of light, the body will theoretically have infinite mass requiring infinite amount of force to accelerate it infinitely.

too many infinites in that sentence eh ?
infinity.... the bane of mathematicians and physicists alike

and so... we see the irony of E=mc^2
many would regard this as a useless discussion....

but before Columbus, discussing earth was round was also termed useless...

Ribbon Model of a Multiverse

a finite number of realities continuing in the shape of ribbons(of finite length beginning and ending on the surface of the object) are attached to the same object (i.e. world in our case). a dimensional hole/rift is created whenever any two ribbons pass over eachother.

For an easier example, consider our universe as an ever expanding body. the greater the surface area of the universe, the greater number of realities it can contain.

it can be visualized as a tennis ball with many strings attached to it.

every ribbon is different from the other. but if, at some point in time, their events begin to match, then those ribbons will combine to form a single ribbon. this hypothesis is in accordance with the law : only one body occupy a certain space at a certain time.

if two ribbons have exactly same realities then an anomaly will be created in which two copies of the same object will be occupying the same space at the same time.

back to the dependence of number of realities on the size of the object in question. the larger the system, the more entropy it will contain. entropy, in simple words, is a unit of randomness inside a system. the more random a system is, the more number of combinations of events can exist. every such combination of event is, in fact, another reality.

thermodynamics may be irritating sometimes, but its rather quite helpful because it is one of the few theories in physics that has no exception. it is applicable to all systems, whatever their size may be.

lines of thought..

Normal thinking is like a multi-storied building. the top floor is always based on the floor beneath it. such is human thinking/problem solving skills. a previous thought gives way to a new thought and how those two were related. every situation of decision can broken down in two simple parts : 'how' 'what' to do... and interesting enough, 'how' is the important part; 'what's are mere facts.

Any problem can be broken down in two basic parts :
1. What to do (Factual data)
2. How to do it (Implementation, the most important part)

the interesting part about 4D is that the seperate realities in a 4D universe will be flat.
a program can learn by putting a counter which increases with each fact stored in the database. i have named it the respect counter. the program always aims to increase this counter which will in-turn enable it to store facts voluntarily. the problem with this logic is its implementation using normal mathematical logic.

Example :

when encountered with the equation x=1+1, WHAT will encourage the program to find out the value of x ? :)

interesting.... isnt it ? the desire to learn being represented by a mathematical equation. i have a feeling its just out there.....
